New Accounting Faculty
J. Kenneth (Kenny) Reynolds is joining the College of Business Accounting Department here at Florida State University, this Fall 2010 semester, as an Associate Professor. He has previously taught auditing, accounting information systems, and financial accounting. He will be teaching ACG4632, Audit I in the Fall 2010 semester. Dr. Reynolds earned his BS in Accounting at Arkansas State University (1988), his Master of Accountancy at University of Missouri – Columbia (1992) and his Ph.D at University of Missouri – Columbia (1999). He worked as auditor at Deloitte & Touche and also at Kruse & Associates P.C., in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Reynolds taught at Louisiana State University and at Indiana University. His research interests are capital markets and the auditor's role in capital markets. We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Kenny Reynolds to our faculty.
We welcome Dr. Tianming (Tim) Zhang, who will be joining us in the accounting department this Fall 2010 semester, as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Zhang has previously taught Managerial and Cost Accounting at Florida State University. He received his Ph.D. in Accounting in the Summer semester of 2010, from Florida State University. Dr. Zhang is married and has three children. He enjoys playing sand volleyball with his friends on the weekends.
Dr. Zhang's research interests include market reaction to PCAOB sanctions, capital structure and employee pay, managers' incentives to avoid meeting or beating earnings expectations, security market's misperceptions of earnings patterns, and determinants of aggregate earnings-returns relation. He states that FSU's accounting undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs are all ranked among the nation's best, and he is looking forward to contributing to future successes. We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Tim Zhang to our department.
