August 2010
Two additional scholarships will be awarded this fall; one $1,000 scholarship funded by the Gulf coast Chapter of the CPCU Society and two $5,000 scholarships funded by the Foundation for Agency Management Excellence. The application deadline is September 9th. See the application for specific criteria.
January 2010
The Center for Insurance Research held a kick-off panel presentation and luncheon event at the University Center Club in Tallahassee, FL, on January 28th. Invited speakers included:
- Kevin McCarty, Insurance Commissioner, State of Florida
- Moira Campion McConaghy, Manager, Government Relations, National Association of Insurance Commissioners
- Dr. Andreas Richter, Director, Institute for Risk Management and Insurance, Ludwig-Maximillians-Universität, Munich
Attendees included over 100 insurance company executives, agents, regulators, and lawyers, as well as students and faculty from the department.
