They reaffirmed their affection for Florida State University. "If I woke up every day like it was my first day at FSU," Peter Collins said, "I'd be OK with that." They accentuated their appreciation for newfound enshrinement and fame. "It's probably the biggest honor of my life," Ted Ostrander said. And they proclaimed their passion for helping people. "Isn't that what it's all about?" John Rivers asked. Collins, Ostrander and Rivers emphasized those points and more on Nov. 4 when the College of Business inducted them into its Alumni Hall of Fame.

With the candor of a commander, Ash Williams likens the Florida organization that he navigated for parts of four decades to a nuclear submarine.

Business alumnus Richard Wheeler (BS Management ’78; MBA ’79) likes to say that his family is “all in” when it comes to Florida State University. He offers as evidence his wife, Bonnie, three siblings, two sons and their spouses, two nieces and two nephews – all who earned various degrees at FSU.

Alumnus Bill Lloyd (BS Real Estate ’86) says the hands-on experience he gained as a student majoring in real estate was a “game-changer” for him – and the reason he is in real estate development today.

Three outstanding alumni have been selected for induction into the 2021 College of Business Alumni Hall of Fame and will be recognized Nov. 4 at a black-tie dinner and ceremony. The recognition showcases alumni who have excelled in their careers and made a significant impact on both Florida State University and the College of Business.

Florida State University awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree Thursday, March 11, to alumnus and insurance industry trailblazer William T. Hold. 

Florida State University unveiled its 2021 Seminole 100 Feb. 18 during a virtual ceremony hosted by the FSU College of Business Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship. Fifty-seven of the Seminole 100 companies are owned or led by 67 business alumni.

Two College of Business alumni are among five FSU graduates recognized by the FSU Alumni Association with this year’s Circle of Gold Award, which is presented to individuals who, through their service and achievements, personify the university’s tradition of excellence.

Deserving students from diverse demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds will have an equal opportunity to pursue a real estate education thanks to the generosity of Florida State University College of Business alumnus John Crossman (B.S. ’93).

The college’s nine department and center advisory boards, comprising accomplished alumni and industry leaders, are essential to helping our curriculum remain relevant, enabling the exchange of ideas from many perspectives and providing students networking opportunities with influential executives.
